Umrah from the USA

Umrah from the USA, arranged end to end

Departures from New York, Chicago, Houston, Dallas and Los Angeles, visa handled, hotels near the Haram, and a quote in US dollars before you commit.

Umrah is open to every nationality, so an American passport presents no difficulty and there is no quota or allocation to wait for. We arrange the visa, the flights, hotels within reach of the Haram, transport between Makkah and Madina, Ziarat and guidance throughout.

Our American Hujjaj travel mostly from the New York and New Jersey area, Chicago, Houston, Dallas and the Bay Area.

Saudia operates non-stop services to Jeddah from JFK, Washington Dulles and Los Angeles, depending on the season.

We quote against your actual dates rather than publishing a fixed price, because hotel rates near the Haram and airfares from the USA move month to month. Send us your dates and group size and you will have a written quote back quickly — in USD, so there is nothing to work out.

Timing

When to go from the USA

The month you choose changes the price more than almost anything else. Here is how the year actually looks.

Winter break

Late December into early January. Comfortable weather in the Haramain and easy to take off work, so it books up early.

Thanksgiving week

A short, workable window that costs little annual leave. Popular with families travelling from the East Coast.

Ramadan

The most sought-after time of the year, and priced accordingly — particularly the last ten nights. Plan months in advance.

Spring and autumn

Outside the school calendar and away from the Hajj season. Usually the best combination of price, weather and a manageable Haram.

Cost

What actually moves the price

We would rather you understood the levers than guessed at them. Four things decide what your Umrah from the USA costs.

  • Coast matters: East Coast departures are shorter and generally cheaper than West Coast
  • Non-stop against connecting through the Gulf or Istanbul
  • Distance from the Haram, which drives the hotel cost more than any other factor
  • Room occupancy and whether you are travelling as a group

What about Hajj from the USA?

Different rules entirely. Saudi Arabia allocates Hajj by country, and our enrolment (ENR # 1134) places our Hujjaj on Pakistan’s allocation. So our Hajj packages are open to Pakistani passport holders — including dual nationals and the many overseas Pakistanis in the USA who fly in to join their group each year. If you hold only an American passport, your Hajj must go through the USA’s own allocation, and we will tell you that plainly rather than take a deposit we cannot honour. Your Umrah, though, is very welcome with us.

Questions

Umrah from the USA

Can I perform Umrah on a US passport?

Yes. Umrah has no quota and no nationality restriction. Hajj works differently — our Hajj packages run on Pakistan's allocation, so they are open to Pakistani passport holders, including dual nationals living in the United States.

What visa do I need from the US?

Saudi Arabia currently issues Umrah permits through the Nusuk platform, and an ordinary tourist visa also permits Umrah for eligible nationalities. Rules change from season to season, so we confirm what applies to your passport on the day you book rather than working from last year's guidance. Your passport needs at least six months' validity when you apply.

Which US cities do you arrange flights from?

Most commonly New York and Newark, Chicago, Houston, Dallas, Washington Dulles and Los Angeles — but we can ticket from any US airport. Tell us your nearest and we will price the sensible routings.

How long should I plan for?

Ten to fourteen days is the usual shape from the US once you account for the flying. That gives unhurried time in both Makkah and Madina without the trip feeling like a sprint. Shorter is possible if your leave is limited — tell us what you have and we will build around it.

How do payments work from the US?

All payments go to the company's bank account, never a personal one. Ask for the details in writing, and we will confirm the amount in US dollars at the day's rate before you send anything.
